Cadets and Staff gain RSGB Foundation Callsigns
Personnel from 2500 Squadron attended in December 2010 the RSGB Foundation Course run by Cambridge and District Amateur
Radio Club.
After carrying out two days of theory and practical in radio
three of the four passed and have been granted their own Mike 6
Amateur Radio Callsigns

Central & East Region HF Radio Exercise - Sunday 21st March 2010
Cadets contacted up to 20 Squadrons on different frequencies
during the day, closest Harlow Sqn and furthest Hollywell
Squadron in North Wales on 30 Watts of power using the Clansman
PRC-320 HF Set. Also many contacts in Dorset, Norfolk, Suffolk,
Midlands, Buckinghamshire and Essex.

Following on from a training session held in
St Neots on Sun 21 Jan 2010, cadets and staff from 2500 and 73
Sqn were able to hear a special event station call sign
GB4RNLI on the squadrons HF Receiver, contact was made via
the call signs email facility and a QSL card has arrived from
GB4RNLI. Shown below.
Coincidentally the picture on the right was
also received and was taken approximately 3/4 of an hour on the
same day as the cadets heard the call sign!
