No
2500 (St Neots) Squadron
ATC was given the Royal Warrant to
form the Squadron on
1st August 1972.
The squadron has always
had good attendance from youngsters and
adults from the local community, and is
always willing to get involved in helping out in
the community as much as possible, the ATC calls
this "Citizenship Training".
The squadron
is located in an excellent purpose built Cadet Centre in St Neots, funding for it came from
Headquarters Air Cadets and The Army Cadet Force.
In conjunction with the
St. Neots Town Council, RFCA (Eastern) and Headquarters
Air Cadets
the Cadet Centre has been located not far
from the old Squadron Headquarters in Priory Road, St Neots. We
also share the Cadet Centre with the St Neots Detachment Army
Cadet Force.
The squadron recruits
boys and girls from the age of 13 through to 20 years
old.
From June
2009 the Squadron operates a Detached Flight (DF) from The Hub,
High Street, Cambourne on a Monday evening. The DF Cadets attend
the St Neots Squadron on a Thursday evening to join in on the
activities and meet fellow cadets and staff.
Of course if you are an adult and keen on
aviation subjects we could also recruit you as a Civilian Instructor, Uniformed
member of our staff or even a Civilian Committee Member to help
out on the fundraising and recreational side of the squadron.
