2500 (St Neots) Squadron
ATC was given the Royal Warrant to
form the Squadron on
1st August 1972. 40th Anniversary of 2500 Squadron will
commence from 1st August 2012.
The squadron has always
had good attendance from youngsters and
adults from the local community, and is
always willing to get involved in helping out in
the community as much as possible, the ATC calls
this "Citizenship Training".
The squadron
is located in an excellent purpose built Cadet Centre in St Neots, funding for it came from
Headquarters Air Cadets and The Army Cadet Force.
In conjunction with the
St. Neots Town Council, RFCA (Eastern) and Headquarters
Air Cadets
the Cadet Centre has been located not far
from our old Squadron Headquarters in Priory Road, St Neots
which we occupied for some 33 years, may be you have memories or
a story to tell! We
also co-occupy the Cadet Centre with the St Neots Detachment
Army Cadet Force which we have done for many years.
The squadron
recruits boys and girls from the age of 13 through to 18 years
old from the local community.
Of course if you are an adult and keen on
aviation subjects you may like to join as a Civilian Instructor, Uniformed
member of staff or even as a Civilian Committee Member to help
out on the fundraising and recreational side of the squadron.
